  I've had the privilege of knowing Sam for several years. Sam is a respected colleague who often shares his experience and advice solving problems for clients. Sam has much success handling related consumer cases like Fair Debt Collection, a tough practice area that few attorneys attempt. I often rely on Sam for his wide breadth of Iowa bankruptcy knowledge and have referred many clients to him with confidence.

  I'm a disabled veteren. Im compinsated, but not much considering what I sacrificed bodily. I was at the end of my rope as a collections agency once more demanded that I increase the amount they were taking from my checking acct monthly. They harangued , belittled and insulted me, questioning my honor and integrity and even my military service. My usual attorney sent me to Marks when I asked him about the collection agency. I called and got an appt 4 days later. After explaining my problem for 10 minutes, he called my antagonist, told them to cease all collections and calls immediately or he would be calling them. He hung up, told me to call him if they persisted, said, "No charge", smiled and gave me his card. First time I've smiled in months!

  Marks Law Firm knew what they needed and took care of my bankruptcy. Communication on the other hand at times did lack. Sam Marks the owner knew what he was talking about but was often unclear on his expectations of me while meeting. There was soooo much thrown out that when leaving after my first meeting to get things set-up I was lost. Thankfully whomever answers the phone in the office offered great costumer service when answering my questions if she was able. When it came down to needing one of the lawyers to return my calls it often took three to four days of calling every day before l would hear back. I assume they are busy in today's economy and it didn't kill me to wait for a response. All-in-all they handled my bankruptcy well. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and coddle you through the process I would not recommend Marks Law Firm, but if you want someone who will tell you where to be, what to give them, when to be there, and then leave you alone until the court date then Marks Law Firm is the place.
